Challenge of AffordabilityBy Karen VisserCandidate for Member, Board of Education; Chappaqua Central School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
How can we continue to give our children a high quality of education programs that our community can afford? The issues facing our district are complicated and important. It is my sincere desire to serve as on the Board to find the best possible solutions to these issues in an efficient and decisive manner. Chappaqua has had a long history of academic excellence. We want the best-qualified, most-dedicated teachers, well run facilities, and great programs. While we are willing to pay for these essentials, we want to be sure were not overpaying. We need to know that our hard-earned tax dollars are not being wasted, but are being spent as efficiently and effectively as possible. I am committed to examining the fine print of our school budget, targeting any inefficiencies and streamlining where it is possible to achieve the same quality of education for lower costs. |
