Augusto Bisani Beginnings

I was raised and educated in Italy, born in Rome during World War II. Growing up in an environment where the streets were empty and noiseless. Barron except for the few children, that like me were playing together with whatever was available; listening every day the noise of tanks going up and down the streets of my neighborhood without knowing why. Seeing lines of people standing, trying to get a donated bowl of soup for lunch was something that left a mark.

To find out later that the country was in a war and the tanks were actually American tanks and that they were friends, left an indelible mark.

To this day I remember the American soldiers throwing bubble gum and chocolate to the children. One of those soldiers (of Italian descent), eventually fell in love with one of my father sisters and were married in Italy after the war. I was blessed with a very loving family, a family that lived together in an apartment with other relatives for several years.

The Dream

America became my dream, and with it, everything that was a symbol of America. My journey to the land of my dreams came later in life. After serving in the Air Force, I lived briefly in different countries such as England, Portugal and Brazil.

I immigrated legally to the United States of America in 1968. I became an American Citizen in 1978. I speak fluent Italian, English, and am able to communicate in Spanish and Portuguese as well.

I lived in New Jersey and New York and worked for Alitalia Airlines for almost thirteen years. I was happily transferred to Los Angeles as an Area Sales Manager.

I am the symbol of the true American Dream. I am like so many others in Los Angeles am an immigrant who built a new life from nothing. I came to this Country with only $ 279.00 and a one way ticket.

I have been able to build two successful companies that today enjoy national recognition as leaders in the restaurant/commercial food industry.

I am bringing to the table a traveled life experience; 25 years of a life of struggle, a life of work and success, a life of family difficulties and happiness.

Now I have lived in Valley Village for 20 years. I am married and have three children and six grand children. I own a successful specialty equipment business in North Hollywood.

I can live anywhere in the United States but choose Los Angeles as our home. Making that choice, it is my responsibility to act and insure that which was given so freely to me is there for others, including my grandchildren and yours.

My name is Augusto Bisani and I am asking for your vote and the opportunity to serve you.
