General Overview Why I am Running?By Mike StokerCandidate for Member of the State Assembly; District 35 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
California is headed in the wrong direction. Years of over-spending has caught up with the Sacramento politicians, who have no answers, no solutions and no plans. Government at every level needs to be held accountable. Special deals for Special Interests must end. I am a 54 year old businessman and community servant who has answered the call to serve when the public has asked me to step up to the plate to get things done. As a County Supervisor I was named the 1993 "Most Valuable Public Official in County Government in America" for my reform plan that took the county budget from tens of millions in deficit to a 10 million dollar surplus. As Chairman of the CA Agricultural Labor Relations Board I was given credit for restoring integrity and fairness to the board and its process. As your Assemblyman, my focus will be on protecting the taxpayer, our small businesses, property rights and most importantly cutting wasteful government spending. This is our chance to move California in a new direction. With your help and your vote we can do just that. Email me personally at mikestoker@aol.com. |
