- Graduated Cal Poly in 1986 with BS in Architectural Engineering
- Worked nearly 10 years in Los Angeles for Large Consulting Engineering Firms. Gained exposure to a wide variety of projects and protocol necessary for successful completion. Projects include the first U.S. hospital to incorporate seismic isolators and seismic dampers.
- Graduated Duke University in 1998 with Ph.D. in Structural Mechanics
- University teaching (Kansas State and Cal Poly - SLO) since 1998. Teaching positions have been full time teaching (not researched focused but student learning focused).
- Have maintained my own consulting engineering practice since 1994.
- Full Time Dad.
- Hobbies are golf, hiking, biking, and cooking. I try to surf but the knees don't cooperate.
