It is import to continue to work with businesses to stay in Milpitas and businesses to come to Milpitas to provide jobs and increase revenues to ensure a high level of service to the citizens of Milpitas.The recession had a major impact on city revenues and our residents. The council has streamlined permit processes to ensure government is more efficient to assist businesses to remain in Milpitas and move to Milpitas, including Cisco, KLA Tencor, Piercey Toyota, South Bay Honda, SanDisk, and recently Sun Power. Sun power will bring manufacturing,jobs, and revenue to the city. There have been over 600 jobs created; however, the unemployment rate for Milpitas is over 11 percent. Economic development must continue to be a high priority for the city council. Together we can find solutions. |
