Candidate for
Director; Santa Clara Valley Water District; Division 4

I ask for your vote as District 4 Director of the Santa Clara Valley Water District Board. Water is an important resource for Santa Clara County and all California residents. I believe a comprehensive water district policy must clearly provide for adequate water resources to meet the needs of residents and businesses, allow for recreational uses, and be sensitive to protect the environment. I served on the West Valley/Guadalupe Flood Control and Watershed Advisory Committee, and for the past 14 years have been a member of the Campbell City Council and Mayor for three terms. In that capacity, I have worked to successfully provide a balance of community services for the city and the residents of both Santa Clara County and the San Francisco bay area region. I've served on the Boards of the National League of Cities, the League of California Cities, and the Association of Bay Area Governments. I believe the Water District Board must ensure that its funds are spent carefully, that expenses are minimized, and that voters are well-served by its effective and comprehensive planning. If elected, I will work for you to ensure that we have clean and safe water, and I'll keep you informed.
