I was born in Harlingen Texas and started coming to California in 1957 as a child with my parents as migrant farm workers. I finally stayed in San Jose California in 1967 when I bought my present home for $9000 at the tender age of 19 years old. I graduated from Samuel Ayer HS in Milpitas in 1965 and was drafted into the Army in 1967. I served three years in the armed forces with one year in Vietnam. I served with the 1st Air Cavalry Division as a door gunner, crew chief and Flight Engineer. I was married in 1979 and my wife and I raised 4 children who attended Linda Vista Elementary School and Joseph George Middle School. I have lived and worked in the Alum Rock District since 1967. My experience as a parent, husband, business owner, a war veteran and community organizer qualifies me to the elected office of Board Trustee. My proven record of the last 5 years as a Trustee for Alum Rock cannot be disputed and I want to continue providing the leadership necessary to sustain stablility, fiscal resposibility and the continued growth in test scores and to increase parent participation.
