Why Cast One of Your Votes for Me?

- I am not shy about expressing my viewpoints (which is why the press constantly refers to me as one of the Council's "harshest critics").

- I am the ONLY candidate who fought Mandatory Trash & Recycling from Day 1.

- I will be a much-needed check and balance to how this Council does business (particularly with regard to what gets discussed in those Closed Sessions).

- My default position on any proposed measure that seeks to remove more money from your pocket is NO unless of course you, fellow citizens, DEMAND that your taxes be raised in order to receive more of whatever services you want and are willing to pay for.

- I will not flip-flop on issues like several of your current Councilmen who at one meeting deliver rousing Patrick Henry-style rhetoric, then at the next meeting admonish citizens to acquiesce and move forward.

- As an engineer, I'm trained to solve problems, the sooner the better.

- I do not believe in debt -- personal or governmental -- and have always lived within my means.

- I will do my utmost to promote allocation of enough City money -- without raising your taxes --to pave at least one significant street in Ridgecrest each year.

- I promise to serve no more than 1 four-year term.

My candidacy essentially boils down to one simple question: are you generally satisfied with your City Government? If so, vote for the incumbents who will surely maintain the status quo. But if you believe that Ridgecrest would be better served by having at least ONE representative who will challenge unjust higher authority, adhere to lawful procedures, and promote transparency in City government, then I would be honored to receive your vote.
