Ted believes that we can honor our deep-rooted past while also building a vibrant city the meets the needs of current and future citizens.Ted believes that we can honor our deep-rooted past while also building a vibrant city the meets the needs of current and future citizens. When asked how we find this gentle balance, Ted responded, "We as a Council, we as a City need to be very friendly to businesses." As the President of the Clayton Historical Society, Ted also preserves and promotes the past: "We are a small town, we want to be a small town ... (but) we cannot stagnate." Ted also discussed that he, alongside City Councilman Joe Medrano, has formed the P2C Foundation to help the local community. The Foundation's Passport to Clayton program is creating a sense of business community that is vital to attracting and retaining businesses in Clayton. This desire to create a vibrant city center is on top of mind for Ted. Watch a video of Ted talking about this issue at: http://tedmeriam.com/video_buildingavibrantdowntownwhilehonoringthepast.aspx |
