Focus on Financial Best Practices on KPPCSD BoardBy Richard W "Tony" LloydCandidate for Director; Kensington Police Protection and Community Services District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Five point plan for quality improvement in the KPPCSD financial management practice.Every governance board is faced with making financial decisions for its constituents. The past and current KPPCSD boards have dedicated themselves to making the best possible decisions with the material they were given to work with. Each board has strived to make improvements for the community and faced budgetary challenges of major significance. If elected to the Kensington Service District Board my highest priority will be to work with my fellow board members to help insure a commitment to best fiduciary management practice. I consider best financial practice should include: 1. Managing waste and redundancy and always looking for ways to optimize cost controls. 2. Making excellent long and short term decisions and understands the value and impact of both clearly. 3. Make more quality decisions without incurring the costs of decision making delays and expense of unnecessary advice and counsel. 4. Reduce litigation and risk exposure through making optimizing informed board decisions. 5. Be more responsive to public opinion. |
