Ballot Statement

My wife, Tammy, and I, and our two children (9 and 13 years old) have lived in Concord for 10 years. I'm honored to serve as Concord Police Chaplain + where I've joined our citizens in celebrating good news, and mourning great loss.

As Police Chaplain, I'm on call 24 hours every day. I consoled the police officers and firefighters who were first on the scene when a 2-year-old Concord boy was mauled and killed by three pit bulls.

Whether it's counseling grieving parents of a teenage suicide victim, consoling the wife of a passed World War II Veteran, or calming nerves at an automobile accident + I'm dedicated to listening and helping alleviate suffering with compassion and caring.

It would be a great privilege to use my problem-solving skills to benefit the Concord community. If elected, I'll listen to your concerns, unequivocally making public safety and neighborhood protection a top priority. Having the support of the Concord Police Officers Association makes me proud.

When you hear about local high school football players arrested for robbing homes, keeping kids in school and away from crime becomes an important goal. If elected, I will initiate a partnership between the Mt. Diablo Unified School District, City of Concord and Concord Police to brainstorm ways to improve education and engage youth productively.

Today's economic turbulence has resulted in divisions between government and its citizens. As your councilmember, I will not point fingers or seek to blame others. Instead, I'll hunker down and get to work to identify solutions to problems. I'm confident if we stay positive, re-establish our priorities and work together, we'll successfully survive this economic downturn and be stronger for it.
