Contra Costa County, CA | November 2, 2010 Election |
JOBSBy Nat BatesCandidate for Mayor; City of Richmond | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Richmond has been hit hard by the recession + our unemployment rates sit over 20%. Our first priority must be to jump start our local economy. That means attracting good paying, light manufacturing jobs + with wages we can raise our families on. I've worked hard to bring new jobs to Richmond, and will continue to do so. We need to focus on job training skills, working with local community colleges to ensure we are prepared for the jobs of the 21st Century. And we need to maximize our Business Enterprise Zone to target economically distressed areas using special incentives to promote business investment and job creation. |
