Eileen's Positions

Eileen has provided over 40 years of service to the Chico Unified School District. Eileen has helped develop graduation requirement policies and the Early Childhood Education Program. Eileen has served on school site councils and committees including: Facilities, Strategic Planning, and Budget Development. Her four daughters are Chico Unified graduates. She has been a PTA President, district employee and has negotiated district/union contracts.

Eileen has the experience and knowledge of the inner workings of the district that will allow her, as a board member, to anticipate and plan for upcoming needs and trends before they become critical in nature. Eileen is experienced enough to know what works and what needs to be saved. She is independent and will not stand by and let the same old policies that got our district in the trouble it now finds itself in, continue. She will save the best and fix the rest.

She is committed to fiscal accountability and responsible budget development and will work hard to retain programs that matter to parents and students, such as Academics Plus, Open Structure, GATE, Spanish Immersion, Athletics, Agriculture, Welding, Construction, Music and Fine Arts. She will work to strengthen Career Technology programs emphasizing workforce preparedness. She will encourage innovative approaches to education like magnet schools. These programs and innovations matter and make CUSD a district supported by its parents, staff and community.

Eileen will work with the community, CUSD Administration, parents, students, employees and their unions to help steer Chico Unified through these troubling times. Distinctive leadership is a critical need Eileen will fulfill.
