? 1. What would you do to increase the number of voters registered in your party?

Answer from Anne Manfredi Mack:

More outreach and education about the issues facing California today.

Answer from Diane H. Rolfe:

Voter registration is key to increasing the numbers of Democrats registered in Santa Clara County. Since 2003 to the present time I have been the Democratic Party Chair for Voter Registration in North Santa Clara County. Now in my position as Director of Political Outreach and Director for all 21 Democratic Chartered Clubs in the County, I am emphasizing the importance of increasing voter registration. A top priority of all 21 clubs is electing John Laird to SD 15. Voter registration/Tabling and precinct walking will be the key to victory in that important Senate District race.

Answer from William G "Bill" Roth:

I would work to increase the number of voters registered for the Democratic Party of Santa Clara by making the work of the Central Committee more public. I would do this by not only advertising the meeting times in print and on the internet, but also publicizing the work and votes of the central committee. Many important issues are voted on in the central committee, but few people realize it. The Democrats Party in Santa Clara County is one of the most vibrant I have seen in my 20 years of politics. More people need to know about it. If they did, I am sure registration would follow.

Modify the law to allow legalization of digital signatures so registration can be done over the internet. Ensure high-quality registration materials are available in Mexican Spanish, Vietnamese, Hindi, Punjabi, Tagalog, Ilokano, and other key languages.

? 2. What would you do to help the campaigns of candidates of your party?

Answer from Diane H. Rolfe:

Organizing and uniting the Democratic Clubs as a mighty Team to work together on special, important campaigns has become a top prioity of my Democratic Party work. At the present time we are raising money, doing voter registration, and educating all Democrats to get involved with the important 2010 California State Elections. In addition, I have become this year the President of the Peninsula Democratic Coalition (PDC), the largest Democratic Club in the County. I will be setting up the Democratic Party Headquarters in North Santa Clara County.

Answer from William G "Bill" Roth:

I would make sure the Democratic Party set aside money to do internet advertising for its candidates in the general election.

Answer from Anne Manfredi Mack:

Walk the walk and talk the talk. Contribute funds and voice my support whenever and where ever I go.

? 3. Why did you become a member of this political party?

Answer from Anne Manfredi Mack:

I was born a Democrat. I totally believe in the philosphy and the principles of the Democratic Party. I believe in taking care of those are are unable to care of themselves. I believe that very person should have a roof over their heads and food on the table. We should have the right to hold a job and be paid fair wages.

Answer from William G "Bill" Roth:

I became a Democrat because the ideas of the Democratic Party most closely aligned to my beliefs, and the beliefs of my faith tradition.

For more information on where I stand on the issues, see http://electbillroth.com/

Answer from Diane H. Rolfe:

Democrats believe in supporting civil rights, education, health, social and economic justice, and protecting our natural environment. Democrats care about people and the next generation. We believe in civic engagement and understanding of political issues. Because of these values, I am a Democrat.
