Dollars and SenseBy Tom KingCandidate for Member, City Council; City of Walnut | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
I promised to run Walnut like a business. While State and Federal Governments are bleeding red ink. Our budget is healthy with strong reserves. Walnut has neverlooked better. The State of California is facing record budget shortfalls. During Mayor Tom King's time on the Council, the City of Walnut has increased its "rainy day fund from approximately eight million to over 13 million dollars. At the same time Walnut has increased services to the community. The dial a ride has been expanded, parks have been improved earning them the title of "Best in California". We have added additional law enforcement personnel. Trash for seniors has been reduced to 11 dollars per residence, a thirty year low. Keeping a strong reserve fund will allow us to remain the best city in California and continue to maintain our high quality of life. |
