Mario Civera and Jack Whelan have been at the forefront of efforts to combat the Federal Aviation Administration's new flight plan pattern over Delaware County that has increased air traffic over local communities and resulted in drastic increases in noise pollution and placed local residents at increased risk.. As Vice Chairman of Delaware County Council and a resident of Ridley Township, Whelan is the point person on County Council to combat the Federal Aviation Administration. He has testified before the United States Senate on FAA issues regarding Philadelphia International Airport and will continue to fight on behalf of County residents. In the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, Representative Mario Civera was a sponsor of legislation to create a Commission on Future of Philadelphia Airport and a co-sponsor of legislation to establish a regional airport authority for the Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley airports to help redistribute airline traffic in the region. As a member of Delaware County Council, Civera will utilize his expertise on this issue to help combat the FAA. |
