I was born in Burbank in 1947 and grew up in central and southern California cities. I moved with my parents to Ventura in 1962. I graduated from Ventura H.S. in 1965, joined the Air Force in 1966 and served three out of five years in Italy. I graduated from California State University Sacramento (CSUS) with a Bachelor's Degree in psychology in 1975. I worked for several years with mentally challenged young adults as a counselor and mentor. Realizing I wanted to teach, I returned to school and acquired my teaching credential from CSUS. I have taught in the California public school system as well as worked for the Department of Defense school system in England. In 1995 I became professionally trained and certified in golf club making and repairing. I lived in Hawaii for 16 years where I had my own club making/repairing business. I moved back to Ventura in 2004 to be closer to my family especially my parents who have lived here continuously since 1962. I currently work with a partner in a golf club shop located at the Tee Time Practice Facility in Carpinteria.
