This information is provided by the candidate
Dan believes that government should be as open and transparent as possible. During his previous tenure on the board, Dan was a proponent of bringing the board meetings to the neighborhood schools to make the board more accessible. He also encouraged parent participation in the curriculum review process and encouraged involvement by interested parties (parents, taxpayers) in all of the committees that he chaired or served on.
Dan believes that the school district should live within it's means, with a minimum (or preferably, zero)debt and that sustained debt will only promote tax increases at some future date. Additionally, debt interest in just wasted resources that is not going towards education.
