Mike grew up in Jefferson County and moved to the City of St. Louis in 1994. He presently lives in the Tower Grove South neighborhood, where he serves as chairman of the 15th Ward Regular Democratic Committee.
He is a lawyer in private practice, specializing in some first amendment issues, personal injury and worker's compensation cases. He has enjoyed that role since finishing a clerkship for the St. Louis Circuit Court in 1993.
Mike received his undergraduate degree from Truman State, before attending law school at St. Louis University. Since 1998, he has served as an Adjunct Professor of Criminology at the University of Missouri - St. Louis.
