City Charter Regarding City Council Voters Run-OffsBy Lou FilipovichCandidate for Member of the State Assembly; District 18 | |

For voters who voted in favor of Measure EEFor San Leandro voters who would rather have good government and, also honestly believe in protecting Voter's Right to vote - by all means - read this document specifically, if your one of the 15,000 San Leandro voter's who voted, in-favor of Measure EE - and in essence, gave-up their voting right's - when based on Non-Partisan (AT-large) Elections...! Under federal law today there is no-way San Leandro can have a lawful so-called Non-Partisan City Council Run-Off which was the end result due to the City missing the Nov. 2nd 2004 General Election in order to produce their Non-partisan-City Council PRIMERY ELECTION and, that supposedly justified the "city council" Non-Partisan (multiple voting;) such as unlawfully using the (Primary Election) process to creat their Partisan '1-vote' City Council Run-Off Election! Although San Lenadro's Charter not only conflicts with general law, but to-days irony is: Which branch, at the State or local level of governnent is lawfully responsible too just enforce the Code of Fair Election Practices; due to lack of policing for compliance - Specifically, the Attorney General, Secretary of State, Fair Political Practices Commission, the State Supreme Court, and all '58' County Registrar of Voters office. This is now a major voter (electors) proplem but with simple solutions that require political parties to 'first' either legislate voter write-in voting systems out of business or legislatively correct it - honestly for the benefit of all voters. Bear in mind, both the Democratic along with the Republican (Political Parties) individually (control) Federal or State enacted election legislation for 'both' Partisan or Non-Partisan Elections: And only now, within any POLITILAL PARTISAN ELECTION can one candidate over another candidate be 'supported' when candidates are seeking the same (Partisan Elected) public office - (The Keyword Is Support Not Endorse) Only the Republican Political Party does and will not ENDORSE any "Non-Partisan" candidate seeking any elected public office and specificly - any registered voter - or and candidates belonging too the same (POLITICAL PARTY). |
