Questions & Answers

1. What does California need to do to address the current budget crisis?

Close the loopholes that cost us 50 billion a year, and make sure that all pay their fair share of property, sales and income taxes, and that all fees for licenses and permits are paid by those that need or want the services or privilege that the the fees are associated with.

2. What should the state's priorities be for K-12 education? For the Community College System?

The priority for K-12 should be a return to teaching and developing students and away from preparing for tests, and providing an optimum learning environment, which includes safe campuses and giving teachers the freedom and resources to educate each individual student according to their needs. Community colleges should be given the means to take up eliminated tech programs in high schools and ROP, and in general give community colleges the means to increase and enhance vocational training opportunities.

3. What measures would you support to address California's water needs?

Take our water resources out of the control of water barons that sell water at a greatly inflated rate, insure that water intensive crops such as rice not be grown in California, and consolidate water districts in order to utilize and distribute in the best way our water.

4. What should the Legislature be doing to address the needs of Californians without health insurance?

Create programs that encourage, promote and provide preventative medicine, create programs that encourage, promote and provide health care for part time workers, create programs that encourage, promote and provide full employment, create programs that encourage, promote and provide the sharing of medical costs between providers, employers, employees and the state, and create programs that encourage, promote, and provide greatly increasing the number of free clinics.
