Experience, responsibility, and personal commitment....the Santa Cruz Port District and the Santa Cruz Community Deserve no less. I have 32 years of public service experience in Santa Cruz County. My professional abilities in matters of budget supervision, administration, contractual issues, and complex inter-agency negotiations were developed during my many years as a Sheriff's Lieutenant. I will apply these skills to foster collaboration between the District, the City and the greater community. I was born, raised and educated here in Santa Cruz, and have I have been a boat owner and harbor user for over 30 years. My personal connection to the the Small Craft Harbor and the local community underscores my dedication and commitment to this position. As we feasibly and effectively maintain the harbor infrastructure we must also set goals and plan for a viable future. The economic and ecological health of our gateway to the Monterey Bay Sanctuary is of the greatest importance to everyone in the region. Responsible stewardship is our duty-for the present and generations to come. |
