The following are some key accomplishments of the Cambrian School District during the time of Randy Scofield's service on the Cambrian School Board.Passed and completed a 5 year facilities modernization program on time and on budget. All district classrooms modernized and air conditioned. All libraries and student services areas expanded or upgraded. Technology infrastructure installed in all classrooms to meet 21st century learning environment. School roofs replaced and all exteriors painted. Passed parcel tax enabling the addition of expanded Arts, Music, Elementary PE and class size reduction across the elementary schools. Built successful elementary and middle school music programs. Added a 3 classroom science wing at Price Middle School. Built a Community Center at Price Middle School. Built and added over 30 new classrooms across the district. Implemented Class-size reduction in Kindergarten through 3rd grade. Developed and integrated the use of technology across the district leading all of the other districts around the county. All schools recognized as California Distinguished Schools. The Cambrian District Board of Trustees was one of only 23 school districts in the nation to receive a 2002 Magna Award from the American School Board Journal. Cambrian was recognized for it's "continuous improvement" approach to learning which is also used by some of the country's most successful private companies. This innovative approach has helped our students consistently earm some of the highest scores in statewide tests. Maintained a strong fiscal position of the District while providing excellent competitive employee compensation. Academic and physical education performance improved significantly to rank in the top 10% scores across the State with 3 schools achieving over 900 on the API 94% of parents satisfied in recent District-wide survey 86% of teachers and staff satisfied in recent District-wide survey |
