Political Philosophy for Wade Ellis

Our human capital, what we know and can do, is our most important asset. We must continue to develop this human capital here in the Santa Clara Valley through a strong educational system that provides quality education from preschool to graduate school. Community colleges play an important role in this system by providing low-cost, high quality college education and, for those not yet prepared for college level courses, basic skills programs in English, reading, mathematics, and English as a Second Language. Community colleges provide workforce members with the continuing education that they need to regularly update skills and retrain as new occupations develop and challenges arise in the 21st century, information-based economy. Community colleges must be flexible and current through the ongoing development and retraining of its faculty, staff, and administrators to effectively and efficiently satisfy these ever-changing, continuing education needs of Silicon Valley, our "valley of hearts delight." |
