Answer from Adrienne Grey:
My natural interest is understanding and improving processes and systems that may interfere with people performing their jobs effectively. Often, competing priorities of various stakeholders cause conflict that ends up adding unnecessary time, cost, and stress to the work environment. I enjoy helping individuals and teams identify ways to minimize barriers that may be hindering group performance.
I look forward to putting my strong analytical and facilitation skills to work in addressing complex district issues. Answer from Frank Jewett:

-The fiancial planning is taking place, but has not been fully implemented.
-Serve as a leader for the ongoing and efficent use and allocation of educational resouces.
Answer from Adrienne Grey:
Achieving this long-term vision depends on, 1) sufficient enrollment to stabilize income from tuition and the state per-pupil funding formula, 2) fostering community and business alliances to develop additional revenue opportunities, and 3) tapping faculty and staff ideas on how best to improve processes to produce revenue and reduce operating costs.
The recently approved 2008/09 district budget includes $9M in one-time funding to offset a projected deficit. Balancing the budget will be a significant challenge in uncertain economic times, with our state's ongoing fiscal health an unforeseeable variable. We must pull together to manage through unpleasant realities, with an eye toward protecting the core mission, values and goals of the two colleges.
