Statement to Rancho Cordova Grapevine

By Joanne Reinking

Candidate for Board Member; Folsom Cordova Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate
Dear Rancho Cordova Community,

My name is JoAnne Reinking and I am a candidate for your School Board. I am the parent of three boys in grades 4, 6, and 8. I am employed as the Parent Coordinator at Oak Chan Elementary in Folsom, the current president of a middle school parent group and past president for an elementary school parent group. I am involved in School Site Councils and am the Chairperson for our Parent District Advisory Committee.

The main reason that I am running for our School Board is because I believe our board needs representation from a parent that is involved with our schools and also informed about issues that are important to our community. I believe that my experience enables me to fill that role.

During my nine years of involvement in our district, I have had the privilege to work effectively with some of the most dedicated teachers, staff and parents. All of whom fill important roles towards our students' success and deserve to be heard. My work experience has allowed for an understanding of school polices and operations as well as state programs and funding. My volunteer service provides the opportunity to understand and expand upon the parent groups and parent roles in the success of our schools.

As you School Board Trustee I will work hard to:

· Provide the best resources, services, programs, class sizes and curriculum options that best support all of our students needs. Creating these school environments make our students want to participate, feel secure and aspire to succeed. · Ensure that parents understand, are heard and are involved in the decisions that affect our students and schools. · Build upon our established communication and availability of information to enable our community to readily see and understand our district policies, financial accountability and practices. · I will work to understand the issues, not just from a district point of view, but from individual schools as well. I will study those issues, seek solutions, resolve to learn more everyday and listen to the concerns and suggestions of our community members.

I ask for your vote to allow me to be part of the leadership dedicated to providing the best for our students. Solutions and success will follow.
