I was born in San Francisco, but raised in Los Angeles since I was a baby. I attended UCLA, where I graduated cum laude in 1990. I went to law school with the intention of becoming a Deputy District Attorney. I received my Juris Doctor Degree from Loyola Law School in 1993. I was hired by the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office in 1994, and have been there ever since. In my 14 years as a criminal prosecutor, I have tried 120 criminal trials. I spent 5 years in the Sex Crimes Division, prosecuting rapists and child molesters. I received the D.A. of the Month Award from my office in 2006 for two gang prosecutions; a dual jury attempted murder case where a 2 month old baby was shot and a murder that occurred at a party by a Vineland Boys gang member. Los Angeles Police Department Chief Bratton & Lieutenant Neiman wrote a commendation on my behalf for the Vineland Boys prosecution. I am supported by judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, elected officials, political organizations, unions and the media. I am a wife and mother of two amazing children. My family and friends have been wonderfully supportive in helping me achieve this lifelong dream of becoming a judge. I plan to use my 14 years of experience in the courtroom as a criminal trial prosecutor to make me into a learned, fair and ethical judge. Having spent my entire career in the courtroom, I know what it takes to run a courtroom where justice, integrity and fairness rule the day. |
