Informed community results from an open dialog between constituents and elected officials.
I remain concerned that too many of our citizens are less than informed on the day to day activities of our city. We have council meetings that are broadcast on cable, which does not inform those who do not have cable or are satellite connected. We only have a local weekly newspaper, and a daily regional paper.

So, we will continue providing a quarterly city newsletter and schedule open forum meetings on a regular basis, in order to bring the citizens out to voice their concerns, frustrations, or desires for the city.

I want the ideal to return that, "...Government of the people, for the people and by the people" (Gettysburg Address). And it is from the people to the leaders, not the leaders to the people.
