Board Member; El Tejon Unified School District

I have been with the Los Angeles Police Department for over thirty-three years and have worked a variety of assignments which include the supervisory positions of Sergeant and Detective II (a detective supervisory position). While with the LAPD I have worked in diverse areas which include Venice, Hollywood, Rampart, Southwest, Central, Van Nuys, Devonshire, and Mission.

I have received numerous awards from within the Department and outside the Department. These awards include The Los Angeles Police Department's Medal of Valor, The Los Angeles Police Department's Police Star, and in 2008 I was California's selection for the prestigious National Association of Police Organizations Top Cop Award, receiving an Honorable Mention Award for a homicide case that took five years and included over 30,000 pages of discovery. This case involved several individuals. One individual was termed by a defense attorney as the most dangerous man in L.A. County Jail. This successful prosecution could not have been possible without the cooperative efforts of D.D.A. Sparagna who filed this case and worked tirelessly for the entire five years, D.D.A. Ambrose who was also assigned to the trial and my partner Detective Cochran.

This same dedication that I have given to the citizens of the City of Los Angeles, I will give to you as we work together to improve our educational system on the hill.
