Scott A. Mann, Candidate for City Council, Proposed City of Menifee

Scott Mann, a long time Menifee resident, recently joined the Management Team in the Business Department at Menifee Union School District as Risk Manager. He brings with him a wealth of line staff executive experience having served in leadership roles in the Defense, Business Services and Construction industries.

Mr. Mann has held many challenging positions since asssuming his new role with the Menifee Union School District. Most recently, he held positions as Human Resources Manager and Facilities Director for West Coast Painting, Inc. of Riverside. Prior to this position, he was an Executive Recruiter with The Lucas Group in partnership with The Wall Street Journal, in Orange County. During this same time period, he was instrumental in developing the strategic business plan for The Hope Learning Academy in Menifee on a volunteer basis. Mr. Mann also has experience as a contract technical recruiter for the defense and aerospace industry with B&M Associates, Inc. of San Diego and Dallas, Texas.

Scott Mann is a U.S. Navy veteran who came up from the enlisted ranks from Seaman Recruit promoting to Senior Chief Petty Officer and retired after 24 years of service as Lieutenant Commander. Having made a total of 9 overseas deployments, he is a veteran of combat operations during the Tanker Wars, Operation Desert Storm, Beirut, Lebanon, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Counter-Narcotic Operations in Central America. He also participated in disaster relief operations during the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in the Republic of the Philippines and in the aftermath of the crash of Alaska Airlines Flight 261 off the coast of Ventura County.

Mr. Mann currently holds a seat on the Menifee Valley Municipal Advisory Council (Menifee MAC) and he serves on the Board of Directors of the Riverside Schools Insurance Authority and the Riverside Schools Risk Management Authority. Additionally, he was recently appointed to the statewide California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Parent Advisory Committee and he also was appointed to the Perris Union High School District Facilities Improvement Committee. Mr. Mann also participates on the Riverside Schools Safety Task Force and the Southwest Committee for Disaster Preparedness. He holds Baccalaureate and Masters Degrees in Business from National University and is presently enrolled in the University of Southern California's (USC) School Business Management Certificate Program at the Rossier School of Education.
