|
Kay Cooperman Jue is running for a seat on the Los Angeles County Democratic Central Committee. Democrats living in the 54th Assembly District (currently represented by Betty Karnette) will find Kay's name on their June 3 ballot. Kay is a life-long Democrat who has volunteered countless hours on numerous political campaigns for nearly 15 years. In recognition of her work and dedication to the party, Kay was named 2007 Woman Democrat of the Year for the 54th AD by the County Central Committee. Kay is a member of the party's State Central Committee and she serves on the board of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Democratic Club. She currently is deeply involved in Debbie Cook's campaign to win Republican Dana Rohrabacher's seat in Congress. Serving on the County Central Committee would be the natural next step in Kay's party involvement. She's interested in learning more about the party's structure and how decisions are made. In this way, she hopes to help others get involved in the party and she hopes to use her public relations skills to improve how the party communicates about its work to Democrats and the community at large. Professionally, Kay worked in the news media for 20 years, switching to public relations -- and immediately volunteering on a political campaign -- in 1994. Currently, she runs her own PR business and has donated her skills and knowledge of the media to numerous campaigns and Democratic efforts over the years. Kay is one of 10 people vying for seven seats representing the 54th Assembly District on the County Central Committee. Visit her Web site at http://members.cox.net/kaycjue/ |
