FAMILY:

My husband Jim and I moved to Cerritos 36 years ago where we raised our five children. I have been widowed three years and am blessed with five grandchildren.

PREVIOUS VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES:

School classroom volunteer, PTA Vice President, President Gahr High School Pep Squad Booster Club, member ABC School District American Indian Parent Advisory Committee, Parks and Rec Girl's Softball Coach, Team Mother for several children's sports teams. Taught children's religious education classes for eight years.

EMPLOYMENT:

Currently employed in Medical Social Work in a Hospital Critical Care Unit where I serve on the Bioethics Committee. I have worked in social work in both the public and private sectors and had a private nursing home consulting business for over twelve years.

CURRENT UNION ACTIVITIES:

Treasurer of SEIU-United Health Care Workers West, Kaiser Psych-Social Chapter, shop steward, and Labor Management Partnership Representative.

POLITICAL ACTIVITIES:

Member and past president Hubert Humphrey Democratic Club of Cerritos, Past Vice Chair 56 Assembly District Committee, elected delegate of the California Democratic Party State Central Committee from the 56 Assembly District six terms since 1995. Elected Gore delegate to the 2000 National Democratic Convention. Performed volunteer work in numerous local, state, and national elections.
