Guiding Principles
The basic values that will guide me as the Mayor of Fresno:
- Freedom Works
- Ideally, government shouldn't be big, but it should be energetic, and those few things it does, it should do well.
- There is no such thing as government money. Every cent belongs to the taxpayer.
- Special Interests will never dominate common sense.
- Increases in City Government revenue should not come from increasing taxes but from economic growth.
- The City's employees are an important asset to the community and they will be empowered to constantly seek improvement in the delivery of services to the citizens of Fresno.
- Competition in the delivery of city services insures the best service and the best value for the taxpayer.
- All citizens, regardless of their point of view, will be listened to and treated with respect.
- Making Fresno City government bigger and more intrusive will not solve the problems of Fresno.
- Private enterprise, not government, is the source of economic and social development.
- All citizens deserve the freedom for economic opportunity.
- It is my job to get things done.
