What I believe...By Jared S. LambieCandidate for State Representative; District 72; Democratic Party | |

I like where I live.I was born and raised in Colver, Cambria Township, where I live today with my wife,Belinda, and three children, ages 10, 7, and 4. We need to create jobs that will keep people here. The saddest day of my year is December 26th, when my siblings head back to their jobs in Cleveland, Philedelphia, Pittsburgh, and New York City. It would be great if they had opportunity here. We are a collection of small communities with our own identies. Due to the mass flight of jobs, our graduates are leaving, and out communties are hurting. Our state needs to preserve its identity. Often the higher powers in the state government forget that Pennsylvania is made up of other communities, not just Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Harrisburg. The legislature needs to help our small communities continue and thrive. People have the right to know what their government is doing. We cannot accept payraises in the middle of the night. The recently started open records policy should continue to be expanded. We need to remove the negative thoughts that come to mind when we hear Harrisburg. Our Legislature belongs to the citizens of the state and that is to whom they should answer. |
