Answer from Kate E. (Russell) Bedinghaus:
As Law Director, I believe my diversified legal background, extensive research experience and ability to devote more time to the legal issues that face our city will reduce the need for outside legal services. I will not let politics interfere with my service to the other city departments or residents. I believe the Law Director has a fiduciary responsibility to the citizens to control the money spent on outside legal services and should work to resolve conflicts and to assist in making government operate more effectively.
Answer from Edward J. Geiser:
As the Prosecutor for St. Bernard, I always strived to assist the St. Bernard Police Department with its mission to protect our citizens by providing them with timely sound and reliable advice as well as the most current laws and tools available.
I am currently working with Code Enforcement Department to develope a new and stronger set of building codes to increase the level of our building standards and improve the enforcement of our code.
With my expereince and knowledge I have met with the new Economic Development Director and am ready to begin assisting him with the legal requirements he will need to bring about new opportunities and growth.
