Huijun (pronounced `Way-Jean', meaning `wisdom' in Chinese) is a mother of two children who attend Foster City public schools, and a six year resident of Foster City. She is excited about this opportunity to serve her community.

Education

  • Ph.D from Cornell University
  • Post-doctorate in Medical Genetics (Board Certified) from Stanford University

Business and management experience
  • Over eight years of management experience at several local technology companies, including Incyte Genomics, SRI International and DNA Direct Inc.

Community leadership and service
  • Foster City Education Committee (appointed June 2007)
  • Active service at Island United Church in Foster City
  • Founding member of Foster City High School Foundation
  • Senior Director, Silicon Valley Chinese Engineers Association
  • Volunteer translator at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital
