Candidate for
Council Member; City of Los Altos

It is my goal to ensure Los Altos remains a great place to live, work and raise a family.

For the past seven years I have actively served our community and worked effectively with residents, City Council and staff. I have the experience, the knowledge, the passion, and the commitment to serve our city as a Council member. I am a team player and I can lead when called upon. I am accountable and, most of all, I listen and then seek the best solution for our community.

As a Council member I will work with the community and city staff to provide practical and intelligent solutions for issues such as:

- Safer streets as a city-wide plan rather than neighborhood projects, including improved pedestrian and bicycle pathways.

- Upgrading our aging city facilities including the Civic Center, Garden House, Redwood Grove, and Grant Park buildings.

- Implementing a green building and technology ordinance to reduce the "environmental footprint" of all new development including city facilities.

- Continuing the efforts to create an attractive downtown with well maintained landscaping, a variety of restaurants and retail stores, and a robust business environment in all our business districts.

- Expanding our housing options including "Lifecycle" housing for first-time and senior home buyers.

- Supporting and enforcing our Residential Design Guidelines to assure our neighborhoods don't lose the character that defines them.

- Maintaining a sound city budget yet still getting things done in a timely manner.

- Ensuring that city resources are directed to the needs and concerns of our community, including affordable services for our seniors and recreational choices for our youth.

Let's work together to continue building a great community, maintain our quality of life, and guard against those decisions that would erode the wonderful aspects of Los Altos. Let's keep Los Altos a great place to be.
