Nora Davis: A Record of Results for Emeryville

It is essential that our city leaders produce real, tangible results that help better the everyday lives of our citizens.

As Your Councilmember, I have worked collaboratively with community members and staff to:

Balance Our Budget and Ensure Economic Prosperity

  • Cultivated a strong, comprehensive tax base to fund vital city services and key development projects.

  • Fostered a collaborative, and thriving business environment.

  • Advanced redevelopment projects that resulted in over 8,500 new jobs.

Protect and Enrich Our Environment

  • Worked for creation of Climate Control Task Force which will advise on policy decisions for climate control.

  • Oversaw the completion of 7 new local parks and the planting of hundreds of new trees.

  • Implemented the clean up of toxic "brown field" sites (our project won the Global Environment Award).

  • Created a Public Trust to preserve our shoreline.

Improve Transportation

  • Launched the Emery-Go-Round, which now has over a million trips per year.

  • Added our new, local Amtrak station, the first new train station in California in 50 years, around which we will build more transit-oriented development.

  • Supported bicycle/pedestrian changes to increase mobility.

Increase Public Safety

  • Worked to enhance police training and community involvement, and disaster preparedness and response.

  • Supported expanded paramedic training, service, and community outreach to seniors, students, and children.

  • Advocated for the development of CERT (Citizens Emergency Response Training) program.
