My campaign is about improving our neighborhoods. Public Safety is a key priority in improving our neighborhoods. This includes attention to our police, our fire department, the quality of our public schools, our parks, the maintenance of our streets and helping to create job opportunities. In my term as your Councilmember I will:

  • Create an inclusive neighborhood cabinet through block captains and neighborhood watch captains so that all issues throughout the district are represented. District 1 is a diverse district and I will promote inclusion throughout. All voices will be responded to and have an opportunity to be heard through quarterly district meetings and neighborhood cabinet meetings.
  • Increase support for our police and fire departments by providing them the resources and tools to keep us all safe and secure.
  • Create more neighborhood watch groups in District 1 than any other district in the city.
  • Enhance our parks through funding, and support more green space and opportunities for people to enjoy the outdoors with their families and pets.
  • Bring government, education, the business community and faith based organizations together to help our youth succeed. I will promote a trade high school program at John Muir working closely with the new superintendent.
  • Create a neighborhood supported plan for The Rose Bowl.
  • Enhance our neighborhoods and promote the preservation and renovation of homes.
  • Repave our streets and repair our sidewalks that are damaged and uprooted in a more timely fashion.

I believe I am the most committed, experienced and qualified candidate and I am honored to have the endorsement of many of our districts most respected neighborhood leaders. I respectfully ask for your vote on March 6th.

Robin Salzer
