Address the Unique Multicultural People FabricBy Gregory "Greg" AlexanderCandidate for Council Member; City of Compton; District 1 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
By addressing the unique multicultural people fabric of Compton, this would allow us to harvest the many skilled resources available to our city. Which would inventory a variety of employable skills & employment opportunities. Which would warrant a responsibility to demand better educational environments for those seeking a better lifestyle of living. which again bring the responsibility of protecting those individual's families and children with the safety of a " No Tolerance Zone"!It's been reported to have nearly 100.00 residents in the city of Compton; displaying a unique model of men, women and children woven together with a marvelous universal uniqueness of cultures. In addressing the various ethnicities needs in this city; it's imperative that we design an innovative strategy linking the various condtructive attributes to compliment one another. Within the unique diversity; demongraphically it is reported by the 2000 Census, this population consist of over 20% of the households having 50% of the children;18yrs.and under, nearly 50% in married-working couples, nearly 30% are single females households, 17% are non-family residents, 13% are individuals and 6% are 65 yrs. and older. The average household size is 4.16% members and the average family size is 4,45%. That's a lot of people who are disenfranchised and disconnected from the resources to improve lifestyles and welfare. I believe by harvesting the resources readily available in our communities would create an atmosphere that will pollinate appreciation, encouragement, sensitivity, and respect which would in return generate a multitude of innovational and social environmental community interventios. this will also manifest into a social "healing & bonding process" for this city. |
