1. The American occupation in Iraq continues to be enormously costly in dollars and in lives. What is your position on how our government should proceed?
People deserve tax relief. I've voted for tax cuts that are saving Hudson Valley families thousands of dollars per year. As long as I'm in Congress I'll work to keep taxes down and money in the pockets of people who earned it2. What is your impression of the roll-out of the Medicare Prescription Drug program so far, and what changes would you propose to make it better?
I opposed the Bush energy bill because it gave tax breaks to oil companies and did not do enough to decrease our dependence on foreign oil. Tax breaks should go to companies that are developing wind, solar, bio-technology and renewable.3. Where do you stand on the current balance between security and civil rights?
The PATRIOT Act broke down bureaucratic barriers that prevented agencies from working together against terrorists. It's vital to our national security. The tools that are often criticized have been used against the mafia and drug traffickers - why should these tools not be used against terrorists who want to kill us?
