Educating Our Sons & Our Daughters

I believe,we have a responsibility to encourage families to work together in behalf of Our Sons & Daughters. The way we do education has to change and can change. It takes all of us caring about all the children, for the good of the community.We must equip the families with the tools to partner with the Ravenswood City School District,ie,tutoring,math,literacy training,conflict resolution,etc.

The RCSD is at a critical turning point. We continue to experience low academic performances in the classrooms.Reading scores are at an All-Time Low.

It's time for the community to rally around our Sons & Daughters. The Ravenswood community is a jewel of diversity with unique challenges. I wish to be apart of the change of attitude towards education that has to happen, for our community to become whole again. I will use all of my influence locally, regionally, and nationally to assure this end. Families in our district deserve quality education for their children. As a Board member, I will provide leadership, in helping families realize the community value, of rooting for the educational success of all families, represented in the Ravenswood School District. Our Sons & Daughters can become successful healthy learners. When our kids are motivated to learn the whole community benefits.

I presently serve on the East Palo Alto Sanitary District Board of Directors, and have gained valuable experience providing leadership in restoring the fiscal health, and professional integrity of the EPASD.

I love the EPA-Bellhaven community and continue to involve myself in programs & activites that assist in the development of our youth.By partnering with the RCSD, local churches, non-profit organizations & community groups.

If elected I pledge to: Promote "good" teacher retention Promote literacy, assuring that every RSCD student reads at or above grade level Celebrate successful students of the district Support community based after schools programs Promote the fiscal responsibility and strength of the RCSD Seek new financial and other resources for the RCSD
