Maintaining and Enhancing Shell Beach

Candidate for Council Member; City of Pismo Beach; 4 Year Term

This information is provided by the candidate
1. Preserve the small-town atmosphere along Shell Beach Road by:

  • Adopting the Shell Beach Improvement Groups planning efforts
  • Adopting interpretations on the definition of "Small-town character of Shell Beach" per the City General Plan.
  • Critically reviewing commercial projects along Shell Beach Road and ensuring that the Planning Commission has appropriate guideance.

2. Protect and improve Shell Beach parks, some of which are eroding and deteriorating. Work with staff in allocating monies to make necessary repairs and improvements, including stormwater runoff control.

3. Develop agreements with the California Coastal Commission on shoreline bluff protection, including developing policies to allow construction of seawalls.
