Candidate for
Board Member; Tri-City Healthcare District

I am a 36 year old who comes from a very proud military family. Though I have never had the great honor to serve in the military, 4 of my 5 older sisters have and one still does (Army), along with her son, my nephew (Air force) and both are currently in Iraq. Their choice did not set well with my father who is a very proud Marine. Three of my uncles who were also Marines and have fought proudly for this country. They have been in Korea, Vietnam, Japan, and several members of my family have served several tours in Iraq.

As many of you may know, when you are in the Military you may have to move. So while I have not always been a resident of the Tri-City area, my family started here in North County before moving. I am happy my family made the sacrifice so others may had the freedom we hold dear. All of my sisters have lived here and one is currently a Pastor of an area church.

I have had over 10 years of healthcare experience while I was a certified E.M.T. and fifteen years in political campaigns. I have worked for large medical facilities like the University of Michigan and I know what a well run facility looks like. I currently work for as a Public Affairs Specialist. I feel with the right direction, we can make Tri-City a better place for us to receive healthcare.

I have worked toward and received a Bachelor's of Science in Communication and Marketing, and received my Master's of Art in Communication with a focus on Rhetorical Theory (both from Eastern Michigan University). The experience I have, can bring our hospital out of a very dark chapter. I know what it takes to go through hard times and the character that is required to make it.
