Why Would Dan Day Be a Correct Choice for our Board?

By Daniel C. "Dan" Day

EDUCATION IS THE MOST IMPORTANT BUSINESS IN OUR COMMUNITY! IT IS AN INVESTMENT IN OUR CHILDREN.
EDUCATION IS THE MOST IMPORTANT BUSINESS IN OUR COMMUNITY!

Like any good business our schools need to be accountable and meet the educational needs of our children.

As a Board Member I will bring a true understanding of accountability. I know the value of setting goals and reacting based on the results. Our community expects excellent educational results in our high schools.

As a former public school teacher and now an employee of a large educational company I fully understand what education needs to be all about. As a father of six chilren, I have found no two of them are alike in terms of how they learned or what they learned in high school. As a College Executive I know what students need in order to have a successful educational experience.

Students need sound asademic knowledge, but they also need skills that will meet their particular needs in life. These skills could be met through college prep classes or advanced college prep classes. They also could be met by giving our graduates everyday life and work skills.

My goal is to establish an understanding with the schools and our families that Fullerton High Schools will place a very special emphasis on education that will meet the needs of ALL district children. Special Education, Vocational Education, ESL Students, and the college bound students.
