Quality recreation opportunities=healthy community!

I have been involved in the recreation profession for over 45 years, beginning my career with the Sacramento City Recreation Department as a lifeguard. My next job was with the Sacramento County Parks & Recreation Department as a park ranger, special events and recreation coordinator. The following 30 years, I worked as a recreation therapist and an instructor/professor at CSU, Chico, Department of Recreation & Parks Management.

Commited to quality recreation programs and facilities within the Greater Chico Area. has been my goal. Accomplishments during my 10 years on the CARD Board of Directors, are: completion of field house, completion of park extensions, Ancestor gates, approval of Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. The Board finished numerous neighborhood parks around Chico, accomplished office extension to CARD Community Center and are in the process of completing the first phase of DeGarmo Community Park.

Over the 10 years I have been on the CARD Board, I have had the privilege of working with extremely professional board members who have been fiscally responsible, open to new ideas and committed to the CARD staff.
