I was born and raised in Northern California. I graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a degree in English/American Literature. After college I happened upon an opportunity to become a pharmacy technician, and I did my internship at the Veterans Hospital in San Francisco. I then worked in an independent pharmacy in Chinatown for five years before embarking on the path to obtain my M.B.A. at the University of San Francisco. Afterwards, I worked at a couple of non-profit organizations, including St. Anthony's Free Medical Clinic in the Tenderloin district. Currently, I reside in Alameda, where I am a mother of two young children, and I work as a Tennis Coordinator at Harbor Bay Club.
