1. What measures would you support to restore domestic programs, particularly those programs affecting low-income persons and children? (150 word limit)
I want our government to provide healthcare coverage for the 8 million American children who do not have it now.I would expand the Medicare program from age 65 to age 55 without raising taxes.
I will fight for a middle class tax cut for working families that earn less than $100,000 per year.
I want to expand the child tax credit for middle class families from age 17 to age 18 (and up to age 24 for families with dependents who are full-time students).
I support Jack Murtha's proposal to redeploy the American troops back to the Iraqi perimiter. I am opposed to a full-scale invasion of Iran. We do not have enough troops in Iraq to successfully accomplish this objective without extreme casualties and further loss of American soldier's lives.
I want the OIL, HEALTH INSURANCE, and PRESCRIPTION DRUG INDUSTRIES that have been earning RECORD HIGH PROFITS while charging RECORD HIGH PRICES to be held accountable for the difficulty that they have caused in the lives of almost every American. $3 per gallon is unacceptable!
Oil companies should be required to fund alternative energy research and development.
I am the ONLY Democrat in this election who WILL NOT raise your taxes.
I support the rights of hunters, sportsmen and private gun owners.
I believe that the government should stay out of people's personal lives.
I believe that Ted Strickland will be the greatest Governor Ohio has ever known.
