The Polk Run Watershed consists of hundreds of acres and extends well beyond our Township borders. A Polk Run Consortium exists but the leadership needs to be strengthened and committed to searching for wider spred solutions. I plan to form a committee of informed residents to help advise the Board of Trustees and Township Administrator on the applicability of existing National Watershed Models to our Polk Run issues.
The Polk Run Watershed consists of hundreds of acres and extends well beyond our Township borders. Symmes Township is near the end of the "firehose" and suffers from all of the upstream drainage. While a Polk Run Consortium exists to treat the watershed as a regional problem, the leadership needs to be amplified, strengthened, and committed to searching for "big ticket" solutions, not just consider postage stamp Symmes properties envisioned by our current trustees as solutions for the township. I plan to form a committee of informed residents feeling the wrath of Polk Run to help advise the Board of Trustees and Township Administrator on applicability of existing National Watershed Models to our Polk Run issues.
