It is Brisbane's responsibility to ensure citizens' safety. I will only support housing and businesses safe for residents and workers. We need to excercise caution to protect our lives and future generations' health before considering short term gains. I will demand the highest construction and clean-up standards on the Baylands and require extra safety measures throughout Brisbane.I have been a Brisbane resident for seventeen years. I learned of Brisbane's special quality when my former employer, KTSF, relocated to Crocker Industrial Park. As a result, my husband and I chose to live here and raise our son here. I am deeply committed to protecting Brisbane's resources and qualities that most people find dear: lush green open space, a small town support network, and the ability to see the stars at night. For over fifteen years, I have actively participated in meetings of the Brisbane City Council, Planning Commission and various sub-committees. Through my advocacy, Brisbane has improved the protection of our open space and natural resources. Recently, I successfully petitioned the State of California and established a Community Advisory Group for Brisbane. Because of this advisory group, the people of Brisbane will have a comprehensive and open community-participation process to guide the development of the Baylands. Brisbane is a great place to live and work, and I intend to keep it that way. For this reason, I offer my passion, knowledge, and commitment to keeping our town unique.
